Obituary of Doris C. Spaulding

Doris “Dode” Spaulding, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 with her family by her side. Mrs. Spaulding was a lifelong resident of Owego who will be fondly remembered as a loyal and devoted wife, mother and nana. Doris was predeceased by her son, Daniel Spaulding; two sisters, Mae Cornwell and Alice Stauder. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 67 years, Calvin Spaulding; two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott and Phyllis Spaulding, Paul Spaulding; two grandchildren, Bradley and Jamie Spaulding; great grandchildren, Patrick and Reese Spaulding. Doris’ final days were spent in Riverview Nursing Home where she received the care and attention she so deserved. Fond memories of boating, playing cards, stock club meetings, traveling and celebrating special family occasions were the happy times she often reminisced about and which will bring us all fond memories as well. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 117 Main St., Owego, NY with the Rev. Geoff Doolittle, officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY .
