Obituary of Vera Jane Katchuk

Vera Jane Katchuk, 92, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014. Mrs. Katchuk was predeceased by her husband, John Katchuk, in 1988; two brothers, Tony Kozanosky, Costa Kozanosky; two sisters, Jennie Grobelney, Mary Hranek. Vera is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and David Devine, Austin, TX; son, John Katchuk, Owego; grand children, David Devine, Tarie and Rick Beldin; great-grandchildren, Hunter Gabriel and Breanna Beldin; sister, Helen Washlyshan; three brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph Hranek, Edward K. Katchuk, Anthony and Peggy Katchuk; several nieces and nephews. Vera was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church of Newark Valley. She retired after 40 years of service from Endicott Johnson Corporation. She was a life member of VFW Post #1371 Ladies Auxiliary and the Newark Valley Quilt Club. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Church, 24 Rock St., Newark Valley with the Rev. William Moorby, officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
