Obituary of Thea Huizinga

Thea (Bolhuis) Huizinga, 79, of Candor. Our beloved mother, wife, sister entered her eternal rest after years of declining health on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital surrounded by her family. Thea was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Joe. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Henry & Jolene, Thedore and Chris, Karl, Anthony and Gretchen, William and Robin, Kenneth and Cristina, Floria; 15 grandchildren; great-grandson; two sisters, Knell Devries, Grietje Van Ess; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thea and Joe emigrated from Holland in 1957 to raise a family and run a dairy farm in this land of opportunity and hope. They first settled near Sussex, NJ and in 1975 moved to their Candor Farm. Her family is grateful for her faithfulness as a wife, helper, mother, grandmother and her steadfast faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Candor Congregational Church, 134 Main St., Candor with the Rev. Ralph Kelsey, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, NY.
