Doris H. Ballard, 98, of Owego passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Mrs. Ballard was predeceased by her husband, Albert Ballard. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Soltis, West Corners; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sue Ballard, Owego; two grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Nancy Ballard, Lori and Mike McDonough; five great-grandchildren, Tyler and his wife, Chelsea, Brandon, Joshua, Megan, Lauren; sister, Barbara Tappan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thank You to Vestal Park for our mothers most recent care with special thanks to staff, Leslie VanAustin, Heather Manual, Henry Lurcock and Sue Painter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Rev. Parrish Bridges, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego, NY. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Doris H. Ballard’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. – Southern Tier Chapter, 401 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
