Obituary of Patricia A. Gause

Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia A. Gause, of Owego, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald C. Gause; son and daughter-in-law, Donald C. and Gwen Gause, of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Chuck Terrien, of Cary, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Sean Gause, Sam Gause, Rachel Terrien; several nieces, nephews and cousins. From Pat’s college graduation to her introduction to the working world and throughout her life, Pat demonstrated a keen interest in helping people via education. She served as a gymnastic judge, coach, and author of “A parents hip pocket guide to gymnastics,” a Board Member of the Tioga County Historical Society, and Director of the Technical Vitality Program, in the School of Advanced Technology of Binghamton Univeristy. She consistently participated in the development of her community by serving as a member of the New York State Council of the Arts, for many years as an active member of the Town of Owego Planning Board, and taking a leading role in the Owego Riverow Development Project, the Owego Garden Club and the Owego Camara Club. Although always cherishing her Michigan roots, local matters in the area were never far from her thoughts. If asked on nearly any topic, a strong, well-considered opinion would surely follow, along with steps that could be taken. More personally, Pat’s love of the arts, the outdoors and literature helped ignite those same passions in those around her. Her consistent strength and determination, as seen in the above accomplishments and the more daily ones, helped leave an impressive mark in her community and will continued to do so amongst her friends and family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY with the Rev. Wayne R. Sibrava and Dr. Rex Dumdum, officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia A. Gause’s memory to Stray Haven, 194 Shepherd Road, Waverly, NY 14892. Condolences may be made to Pat’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
