Evelyn Belle Seaver, 83 years old, was escorted to Heaven by the Angels she loved on Monday, February 23rd, 2015 at home. She was predeceased by her parents, Alton and Anna Inman Burns; a sister, Mary & John Applegate; six brothers, Frank and Gladys Burns, Richard “Dick” and Mary Burns, Bob and Vivian Burns, Elzie and Ann Burns, David and Elsie Burns and Paul Burns. She was also predeceased by her parents-in-law, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald D. Seaver Sr.; three children and their spouses, Donna Seaver and Gary Zimmer, Donald “David” and Jody Seaver Jr., Pamela and Thomas Donovan, Jr.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Terra and Michael Phelps, Thomas Donovan, III and Shawna and Corey Hollister; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cooper, Garrett and Julianna Phelps, Quinton Hollister and Natalie and Mia Donovan; four siblings and their spouses, Daniel Burns, Rachel and Burt Adams, Becky Weaver, Alta and Dominick Iadicicco; five sisters-in-law, Harriet (James) Keene, Christine (Herb) Bogart, Virginia (Howard) Miller, Phyllis (George) Clark, Dorothy and Bill Eichhorn; also several cousins, nieces and nephews. Evelyn was co-owner of the Community Shop in Owego for 25 years before selling the business to their son, David, and the business has been in the family for almost 55 years. She was a woman who loved and dedicated her life to her family by cooking and baking for them for holidays and family events. She was also dedicated to her community and was a life member of the Owego Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, the Owego VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Junior Girls. She volunteered many hours at Thursday Night Bingo, Friday Night Dinners, many banquets and benefits. She was always an excellent role model and will be missed by those who knew and loved her! A special thank you to the Staff at Riverview Manor in Owego and Robert Packer ICU for taking such good care of her and for also taking such good care of all those who visited her. The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home at 15 Park Street, Owego, NY. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in the Spring. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service.
