Edwin F. “Ted” Sturtevant, 93, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015. Mr. Sturtevant was born in Brattleboro, VT to Vernon and Madeline Sturtevant. Mr. Sturtevant was predeceased by his wife, Jeanne, in 1964. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William and Evelyn Sturtevant, Fuquay Varina, NC; two daughters and son-in-law, Leslie and Terry Rose, Liverpool, NY, M. Kim Sturtevant, Owego, NY; three grandsons, William Sturtevant, Fuquay Varina, NC, Tim Rose, Endicott, NY, Dan Rose, Oswego, NY; two granddaughters, Kelly Byrd, Fuquay Varina, NC, Amy Lestage, Pembroke, MA; five great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; sister, Melba Kulpa, Franklin, TN; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sturtevant served during WWII from July 1942 to Oct 1945 with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 23 months in the European African Theater. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1305 , Stella Ireland Rd, Binghamton, NY. Ted retired from IBM with 39 years service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club and the Two Generation Club. In honoring Ted’s wishes, services will be held privately. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Joseph Readling and the staff of Broome Oncology, The Infusion Center and Hospice at Lourdes for their kindness and compassion.
