Philip D. Babcock, Sr.
Philip D. Babcock, Sr., 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Phil was predeceased by his parents, Helga and John Babcock; sister, Barbara Rodgers; two brothers, John “Jack” Babcock, Jr., Richard Babcock. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Babcock; his children and their spouses, Debra and Thomas Ciechoski, Brenda and Jon Lehtonen, Lori and Mark Baker, Philip and Stacy Babcock, Jr.; grandchildren, Tarynn, Tyler, Ryan, Devon, Kylie, Kaylyn, Jacob, Morgan; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Barry Malonis; two sisters-in-law, Joan Babcock, Elizabeth Babcock; step mother, Ester Babcock; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his card playing buddies. Phil retired from IBM and was a member of the Quarter Centry Club. He was a Pilgrim of the Moose and the former Administrator of Moose Lodge #1595. Phil was a loving husband, father, grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Rev. Parrish Bridges, officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a Moose Lodge Service at 1:45 prior to the services at the funeral home.
