Isabelle J. Roberts
Isabelle J. Roberts, 87, of Candor passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Elizabeth Church Manor in Binghamton. Mrs. Roberts was born in Owego, NY on September 28, 1924, the daughter of the late Carl and Hazel Marshall Rieg. Izzy lived her life with a passion for her family, her friends, and her many interests and activities. She was a Past National President of the Auxiliary to the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She was predeceased by her daughters, Dixie and Francilia Roberts; brothers, Robert Rieg, and Carl Rieg, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Anita Hudy, and Molly Rieg. She is survived by her children, Donna (Earl) Levengood, Jr. of Dryden and Royce (Lynne) Roberts of Candor; grandchildren, Wendy (Dan) Huff, Heather Peterson, Makaylia (Neil) Binkley, and Cassidy (Joshua) Dunham; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, William Rieg; sisters, Marjorie Turecek, Mary Smiley, and Betty Shultz; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor with Rev. Philip Jordan Officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family invites friends to call on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 1 to 3 PM at the funeral home.
