Irene B. Malec

Of Owego

Irene B. Malec, 84, of Owego, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 with her loving family by her side.  Irene is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Frank Malec; children, Frank J. Malec of Owego, Judi Malec-DiGioia of Woodbridge, VA, Mary Anne Malec of Owego, and Nancy Malec of Owego; sister, Ceil Hartos of NJ, grandchildren, Ashley, Danielle and Paige Malec all of FL; nephew, Jeffrey Hartos of NJ; and special friend, Donna. Irene was an Accountant for Hoffman-LaRouche in Nutley, NJ for over 15 years.  Irene enjoyed many good times at the Owego Senior Center, craft painting and doing taxes for her fellow seniors.  At Irene’s request, she would like family and friends to gather at the Hand of Man, 180 Front Street, Owego on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 5 to 7 PM to enjoy coffee and share memories with the family. Memorial donations may be made in Irene’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090.

Message: Mrs. Malec was a sharp Mom that knew what was going on with her kids and also in life. I remember her well and respected her all those years in Clifton NJ, back in the 1960' & 1970's - the good old days.
