Espe, Harry

Harry R. Espe, Jr.

Of Owego

Surrounded by his family, Harry Espe, Jr, was released from their arms and into the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.  He relied on his faith, family and friends for encouragement. Harry was our hero and fought his battle with dignity, grace and courage. He never gave up, but his body did. He loved the Lord and his spirit will live on.  Harry was predeceased by his father, Harry Espe, Sr. and nephew, Jason Ballard.  He is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife of 30 years, Margaret; their precious children, Andrew, Elizabeth and Audrey; his loving mother, Rosalie; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Bill Ballard, Margie and Ken Levandoski; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.  Harry was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Some of Harry’s happiest moments were when he was spending time outdoors, digging in the dirt, playing on his tractor, working on his equipment and spending time with his family and friends.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to “Harry’s Angels”, Dr. Desio and the dialysis gang at Robert Packer Hospital and the precious nurses in the I.C.U., Dr. Keith Nichols, Pastor Dennis King and the First Church of the Nazarene Family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of Nazarene, 3732 Waverly Road, Owego with the Rev. Dennis King, officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Owego. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Harry R. Espe Jr.’s memory to the Sayre House of Hope, One Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA  18840 or the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
